Hello everyone! It's been quite awhile since I've last updated this platform of mine. Thinking about it, the last time I blogged was just before the new school term started for me. I'm sorry for the lag of update (for anyone who still reads this anyway) due to the amount of assignments and projects thrown at me since school started. I've barely had time to myself, yet alone updating this space. But I'm back now, at least for the holidays :) I've got so much to share!

Semestral exams ended about a week ago and let's just hope for the best. The flow here is much faster than I'd expected it to be and I'm still trying to fully adjust. The constant need to maintain a good GPA is taxing but I guess that's just how the real world works.
Pfft, what am I even doing? Today's topic clearly isn't about me complaining about school so let's just hop on right to it shall we? :)
About a month, during the National Day holidays (yes, I know, super long ago), my family and I decided to take a short break and go overseas to distress. We had planned a short 3 days and 2 night trip to Port Dickson, Malaysia. I wouldn't really say it was a full 3D2N trip as we spent a good amount of the day siting in the car.
Whilst on the way, we stopped by Malacca for a short lunch break. It was only around 11am when we got there but the place was already bustling with tourists and locals. We popped by a local cafe which sold many local desserts and dishes.
The cafe has a really authentic and vintage vibe which I guess is what draws tourists there. The weather was really hot so naturally we ordered desserts, never missing out the local favourite, chendol!
After chomping down our desserts, we walked around the town for a bit because our asses were still sore from all that sitting down in the car. While walking we found a lot of people eating this, mini egg-shaped shaved ice thing, and found it cute so we went on a hunt looking for it. Apparently they were ice-cream yogurt and is a popular mini snack in Malacca.

That thing on my brother's head, according to him, is the BEST purchase he made during the holiday. Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry for him.
We didn't stay in Malacca for long due to the scorching weather so we quickly jumped back into the car to continue our journey to Port Dickson. It took us about an hour, plus minus, to get to our destination due to the crazy empty roads and wrong GPS signals (curse you Google maps).
The place we stayed at is a resort called, Lexus Hibiscus! It's a really lovely place and blew my expectations off the roof because I thought that we'd be staying in a random/normal hotel.
Upon first glance, it looks just like a normal hotel. I thought so too, until I realized that that wasn't the place where we'd be staying during the 3 days. The place consists of 2 parts, the hotel and the villas. Now, don't think that the hotel room would be a boring place to stay at as compared to the villas because each and every room has an accompanying private pool! Cool right?

I think what's really cool about the place is that it's shaped like a flower! The arrangements of the villas really wowed me (still does). My mum had booked us a villa upon recommendation from my aunt when she came to stay a few months prior. The room we checked into was, WOW! I was really pleased with the interior and all, the only thing that upset me was the fact that there wasn't a bathtub in our room *cries*.
I didn't take any pictures of the room because during the 3 days there I shot mini clips here and there and complied it into a small little travel vlog! I might post it up soon and I'll let you guys know when I do! :) However, I'm sure you can Google search the resort and pictures of the rooms will pop up!
Whilst waiting for our room to be prepared, we headed off for lunch by the beach that is just beside the resort! The place served a variety of food ranging from local to Asian to Western! However, since it was still early when we got there, not many shops were open so we settled for chicken rice (which tasted yummy btw).
I didn't take any pictures of the room because during the 3 days there I shot mini clips here and there and complied it into a small little travel vlog! I might post it up soon and I'll let you guys know when I do! :) However, I'm sure you can Google search the resort and pictures of the rooms will pop up!

And since the entire resort is so big, buggy service is offered 24/7! I took my fair share of buggy rides around the area since it's free c:

As expected, the first thing we did when we settled into the room was to, GO SWIMMING! Gotta make full use of the private pool am I right? ;) The adults left us both for awhile to go buy some snacks so we had a few hours to ourselves.

We spent most of the trip taking advantage of the private pool and swam pretty much the days away!
On the first night, we initially wanted to have Japanese cuisine for dinner but only realized the restaurant isn't open on Mondays. Hence we settled for the hotel's restaurant! They had a buffet spread laid out, however the food didn't seem very appetizing so we ended up going a la carte instead.

Dinner was quite costly for the average (some even sucked) food that they served! Wouldn't recommend eating their a la carte menu if you ever visited, go for their buffet spread instead :)
Moving on to day 2! We decided to have a lazy sleep in day and skipped breakfast. Woke up around 12/1pm and went straight to lunch! Finally got to try the Japanese restaurant there and YUMZ, it didn't disappoint!

Around the resort, there are many activities for everyone to try! My brother and I saw people travelling on segways and wanted to try it too. The segway costs about $16SGD for 30 mins per head. Before you begin, you'll be taught on how to ride and control the segway as it's a very sensitive machine. I honestly recommend trying out the segway as I really did enjoy myself! Getting a personal segway in Singapore is really costly so that gave an experience of what it's like to ride one. 10/10!
Since we were both feeling sticky and hot from riding around, our day was spent lazying, cooling and swimming around the private pool! *cue picture spam*
It's funny how we went there without any floats but left with 2! We were just browsing through the hotel's gift shop and happen to find a pile of floats that we just couldn't resist buying! It costed around $5/6SGD each. It was a very worthy buy because I can use it when I go swimming now c:
After swimming for a couple of hours, we decided to head down to the beach side to have dinner. However, there wasn't much as many shops weren't open so we settled for a light meal whilst our parents drove out to get us some proper dinner!

As our parents left us alone to buy food, my brother and I sneakily (parents didn't find out until after the trip) hanged out around the playground area for awhile before heading back to our villa. No pictures of diner that night, sadly, but we had seafood! From noodles to crab to cereal prawns and cockles, you name it! Went to bed feeling stuffed and grateful that night :)
Lastly, day 3! Finally managed to drag ourselves out of bed for breakfast and boy I'm glad I did! The breakfast spread was SO MUCH better than their dinner spread and there is just so much to choose from! Didn't take many pictures as I was busy stuffing my face with food.
We finished breakfast around 10am and had about 3 hours left til we had to check out and begin our trip home. I didn't feel like swimming and ended up reading under the covers whilst everyone swam. Did I ever mention how this place comes with FREE wifi???? Not only is it free, it's fast and can be connected from anywhere along the resort! Including the beach. HA, beat that!
Sadly, all good things must come to an end.
Our journey home took a few hours and we got home around 6 in the evening. I had school the next day so I was quite bumped about returning :") I'm not really sure how I should end this blogpost. I really enjoyed my 3 days away and the trip really helped me distress from school and whatsoever. I would definitely recommend going to the Lexus Hibiscus for a holiday! :)
